WIP Ebdain

Here's painting in progress that was commissioned by Ebdain. It's a detailed piece that I've been having a lot of fun with. Thanks Ebdain!
The pencils are shown first and the digital colors below that. Those mountains in the background were cloned in from a photo I took some years ago; it took a good amount of fiddling about to make them match, but I am happy with the results. I've used this technique successfully in the past when building color reference and I'm confident that it's going to serve me well again this time. I'll be posting the results around MWFF, where Ebdain will pick up this piece. If you're planning to attend, please drop by my table and have a look at the original.

Oooh, a dragon rider. Betchya the fish aren't the only thing that fear that pole-arm when the two of them are tearing through the sky.

The whole piece looks great!

You should put up that Black Wind dragon that's posted on your other site...I just love their colors.

I didn't think of him as a spear fisher until I read your comment. Now I look at that dragon and he looks like he's thinking, "Hurry up and get me a trout for dinner!"

Ask and you shall be answered.... Please have a gander at today's post to see what dark dragon. This one is actually a little different from the one posted on the other site. I tweaked the colors a bit at the customer's request.
