White Star
This week's commission is White Star the Dragoon, showing his humanoid form in front and his draconic form behind. I've done furred dragons before, but this is the first I've done with yak like hair. I rather like the effect. Combined with those horns it gives him an commanding air.
White Star is one of many commissions I've been working on this week. You'll see more of these in upcoming weeks. I also hope to show you some previews of paintings in progress. Late winter through the end of spring my favorite time to be in my studio; light and temperature are excellent. I try to get as most of my large paintings done this time of year.
Bashcon is coming up next week. I hope to see some of you there. If I can pull it off, I will write my next blog entry from the convention.

Wow! I really like this one. Is this "furry" dragon a new type that is coming in the game, just a commission that turned out extremely well, or both? This one peaks my interest.
Hi ds! The answer...hmmmm. It is a commission but a dragon form of this type would be interesting. I would certainly not take any cold damage. On the other hand, I couldn't seeing it as a flying form--all that hair would get in the way.
Hmmm...I agree. How about a strain of dragons bred specifically for the cold, based in the southern end of the Chiseled Mountains between the Selenese and Ebonese Kingdoms. They could have been the guardians of a large cache of dragon eggs secreted into these mountains at the time of the Deathday Massacre. The extreme cold could have been used to preserve the eggs in a form of stasis until the time was right to try to repopulate the various dragon species. These "Snow Dragons" could have been a secret of the Grand Council long lost since none of them survived the massacre. Whadda ya think?
