Just noticed this in the pic...is the ledge and the swirly design underneath CG work while the rest is drawn?

Good call. Yes, this is another in the series of pieces I'm going that blends CG and hand drawn work. I built all the elements of the background myself, rendered them to create the background image, then imported the background image into my digital painting program to combine them with a scan of hand drawn art. I really like the combination of CD detail with the hand drawn anime look and feel of this piece.
