Happy Monday, folks. Here's a sketch for a painting I just finished. Henry the cat is being painted for a patron. He is planning to give the painting to his mother; Henry is aging, and he wants her to have a memento of him. I like how the sketch came out. It really captures the personality I saw in the reference photo of Henry. After I deliver this to my patron, I'll post the final painting here.

IPad Painting Evolution
As anyone who has been following my blog knows, I have been taking commissions and painting card art on my IPad. Today, I am showing a glimpse of how I've been using the IPad and my favorite art program, Brushes, to create art on this device. The sequence below takes this piece from rough sketch to finished drawing. I did a lot of layering to achieve these results, especially when painting highlights on the elementalist and the Earth Golem. Because there are multiple images here, I've posted everything small to speed up load time of this page. To see any image larger, click on it.
